Re: DICE updates
PC version of Battlefied 1943 delayed until 2010
By Steven Perdikis - Wed Aug 26, 2009 3:46pm
Those of you who were hoping to get their hands on a PC version of Battlefield 1943 next month will not be too happy with DICE. The company has announced that the PC version of the throwback, arcade styled shooter will not arrive until some point in 2010.
The reasons for this delay are due to the fact that the company have not released a game on the PC which is powered by the Frostbite engine. While the release is anticipated to take place in the first quarter of 2010, the delay will also see the inclusion of new features, that are not present in the console versions of the game.
Speaking to G4TV, the producer of the title, Gordon Van Dyke - explained:
We haven't released a Frostbite-built game on PC, so going into this project we lacked a starting foundation we had on Console. There are also many different and unique challenges to the PC that lead to us pushing the release even further to Q1 2010. This was a hard pill to swallow, but it was absolutely needed to ensure the features and functionality that PC Players have come to expect from Battlefield on PC are not missing.
The PC version is said to boast support for both DirectX 9 and 10, up to 32 simultaneous players, VOIP, and ranked servers. If the wait until next year is too unbearable, you can always pick up the game on the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360

Re: DICE updates
Give it a whirl last night for awhile... saw a few of you on.... chunky where are you hiding?
We had an epic battle on aviation last night, went for nearly 90 mins... started with only 8 on and I got like 80 team points just from capping flags. Was wicked... was able to blow up astrodoberman heaps with C4 too (can picture him raging). What do you think of the new map? Blue pearl or something... I like it, was on an AU server last night and enjoyed owning up as medic. My fav maps though are harvest and roadrage. any of you drive the big red rigs yet? love the sound of the horn....

i thought the same but then felt havin it as jst water access is pretty mad in itself + bit small for em + f%#k u chopper c@#ts, seein as theres a million boats n a few yankee lavs to support em.... start of map... seeing these million boats comin @ u with the lav fire ova the top the A.T crew may pop a few but some r sure to get through... n once in even if you have uav n arty support theyre hard bastads to root out. Lots of boxes n small walls make for big ass fire fights.
Though same love that horn.
Jumpin on now...
You see REDRUM Xman?
hehehe root
oh um nfi on the lag... u ova ur d/l limit or is it pb checks
